• As a Retro-fit solution. Rako wireless technology utilises in-line dimmers, switches and controllers to minimise the need for any invasive cabling along with the need to take all of the wiring back to a central point (star-wire).

Rako lighting accessories allow for the use of practically any light fittings, and unlike many of their competitors, this can include floor and table lamps without the need for a dedicated 5 amp lighting circuit. Because of the modular design of a Rako system, it can grow with your needs. If you want to incorporate new light fittings, Rako modules can be easily attached to these, making setting a romantic scene as easy as pressing one button.
• Scalability of control. with Rako modular systems, the lighting can easily be split from a single circuit, into many, allowing all lights to be dimmed independantly to different levels, giving you light when and where you need it. It is also worth noting that with Rako installed, you can set the maximum levels on your lights, allowing vast financial savings on lighting just by reducing the maximum output to 75% which is barely noticeable.
• Where you wish to control your lighting from more than just the wall switch, or automate it.  The Rako system has the ability to integrate with window and curtain control, automated gate systems so as to activate safety lighting when the entry system is activated, security lighting so upon movement or other sensor activation, lighting scenes can be recalled, etc.

 So how does it work?

Most scene control systems dictate that the lighting circuits be bought back to a central dimmer box or rack and that the control panels are connected to this using data cabling. This is not normal domestic wiring and may well be undesirable for a new installation or even impossible for a retro-fit project. Rako’s wireless system is designed so that the dimmer modules can be fitted into a standard domestic wiring scenario and the control panels communicate with the modules using RF signalling, thus eliminating the need for data cabling. A modular wireless system allows for easy expansion at a later stage.
